Galway, Here I Come…

Over the Edge Nuns Island Sept 2013

Phew! Have had a manic but brilliant couple of days. My short story collection was officially launched in the Irish Writers’ Centre last night. Massive thanks to Jack Harte for his fantastic speech, and thanks to the team in the Irish Writers’ Centre who were a bunch of absolute legends, as always. Thanks especially to Fergal for setting it up. I’ll do another post about the launch when I manage to round up the photos.

In addition to being available to purchase through the website here, the book is now also available in The Winding Stair book shop in Dublin.

Next up, I’m off to Galway tomorrow to read at the Over The Edge Writers’ Gathering, which I’m really looking forward to. The other readers are Orla McGovern, Nicki Griffin (who will be launching her book The Skipper & Her Mate, and a trio of Australian writers: Robyn Rowland, Andy Jackson, and Rachael Guy. It promises to be a varied and interesting night.

On Saturday, I’ll also be heading to the launch of Aileen Armstrong’s debut short story collection End of Days from Doire Press. It’s on in the Galway Arts Centre at 1pm. The collection sounds really interesting. You can read more about it here and I know they say not to judge a book by its cover, but isn’t it an absolute stunner? Stellar work there from Doire Press’s Lisa Frank.

end of days
